Ikitsugi / 息継ぎ

Born in 2001.

"Through paintings in a “flat” state that bridge the two-dimensional and three-dimensional worlds, I create while reflecting on the relationship between two-dimensional and three-dimensional human beings".

Through her paintings, she has explored the diverse relationships between characters and people. She reflects on the places and environments where these characters exist, as well as the events that unfold there, and explores whether it is possible to maintain a close relationship—both psychologically and physically—while respecting each other’s identities. She depicts new forms of human relationships in the modern era, where living alongside characters from anime and video games has become the norm, as well as the daily lives, communication, and outlooks on life that unfold within these relationships.
