The Jean Pigozzi Collection Of Contemporary Japanese Art

Moco Sawada

Born in 1990. Lives and works in Osaka.

In 2010, she started working as an artist while still a university student.

She currently exhibits at numerous galleries and art fairs in Japan and abroad.

Her works transcend the boundaries between reality and virtuality and challenges us about dependence on technology and the way it influences our perception of the world.

Her compositions immerse us in a parallel reality, where bright colors and precise lines recall the aesthetics of video games and mapping applications. Everything seems at your fingertips, just a click away, but behind each pixel lies an unsuspected complexity.

In order to explore the relationship between the created object and space, in recent years she has created not only character paintings but also landscape paintings on map applications.
