Akkomon / アッコモン
Lives and works in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. Akiko Nishimoto, an illustrator and 3D-artist working under the name of Akkomon, creates colorful, detailed illustrations with a semi-three-dimensional style. She paints, teaches art classes for children, and helps out at Yamato Store.
Akkomon draws inspiration from a childlike drawing style featuring exaggerated shapes, cheerful felt-tip pen colors, and so on. She uses lightweight cardboard for a bas-relief technique that involves layering her colorful drawings. The themes addressed in her work are hyper-urbanization and pollution.
