b. 1991, in Tokyo, Japan. Lives and works in Tokyo Japan Yusuke Toda constructs his paintings by collaging images of clouds, animals, people, and plants starting from existing portraits. Toda's artistic journey began with his studies in oil painting at Tama University, where he developed a unique artistic vision influenced by the vibrant Asian art scene. As an assistant to the renowned artist Takashi Murakami, Toda honed his skills and refined his expressive style, blending elements of narrative art with the bold aesthetics of pop culture. Drawing inspiration from his own experiences and memories, Toda weaves captivating stories through his art, capturing the essence of youth and the universal emotions found in everyday moments. In his work, everything is framed by a central character named "YUM". YUM represents the purest form of ourselves as viewers, as well as the natural harmony between us and our surrounding environment. Toda received training as an assistant to renowned artists Takashi Murakami and Tomokazu Matsuyama. He has made a significant impact on the global art market, with his shows consistently selling out in Tokyo, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan.
